More than four years of prototypes, one invention patent, three injection molds, one extrusion die, one bending mold, four thermoforming molds, and two cutting dies gave birth to Tacito collection.

Observing storage furniture, commonly referred to as sideboards, my eye couldn’t help but focus on the hinges internally enabling the opening of the doors: standard metal mechanisms that stripped away any refinement from the product. Whether lacquered, veneered, or solid wood, it always seemed to me that on this type of furniture, more styling was done than actual design, merely defining finishes and mostly drawing a handle.
This was how the idea of questioning precisely those hinges, which were the shared point of all other sideboards, came about: this was the founding element of the Tacito project.

The main innovation of Tacito is undoubtedly encapsulated in its doors: they are fully covered on both front and back with felt, which not only has an aesthetic value but is the technical element identified to excellently fulfill the role of a hinge. The doors are made using the technology commonly used to produce sound-absorbing panels, and thus their core is made of pressed recycled polyester felt. Therefore, the covering is not sewn subsequently with upholstery work but is already part of the same industrial process of making the door from the outset.
The hinge is positioned in the center of the furniture, and the perfect closure of the storage space is ensured by magnets hidden in the profile of the volume. The entire perimeter of the door serves as a handle through which it can be opened thanks to a chamfer in the profile of the furniture that facilitates grip: whether you are tall or a child, you will always find the most comfortable opening point for you.
The aluminum feet elevate and give importance to the volumes and also conceal a small intelligence that allows easy adjustment of their height.
The result is Tacito, a collection of storage furniture designed for the living area, kitchen, and offices that fit into spaces with a strong aesthetic charge, thanks to the materiality and chromaticism of the fabrics, and a functional value, thanks to the acoustic comfort provided by the sound-absorbing material doors.
